Scraps from dozens of Oshima silk kimonos, including Mud Oshima, are remade into cute tiered skirts that take advantage of the elegance of the silk.
More than 250 scraps of Mud Oshima and various other Oshima tsumugi silk were used to create this luxurious work, which is entirely made of patchwork.
The nine tiered tiered sections are fluffed up by slightly gathering every other tier.
The adjustable four-tiered elastic waist makes them comfortable for everyday wear.
The lining is made of stretchy tricot lining. Thin sections of the fabric are lined with an adhesive core to provide sufficient strength and a sense of solidity.
The retro slouchiness of pongee is the key to this item, which is perfect for holidays.
